easiest and most efficient means of doing this is to listen/watch/observe your inner dialogue/chatter.

Tennis Tom- In regards to your post about remembering the negative, I call this the "red light" theory. No matter how many green lights I hit on the way to work, all I can do is belly-ache (mentally) about the red ones. I literally don't even remember the green ones. I think we tend to do that in life as well.

I have recently been doing just that-Observing my attitude. Did that thought, indicate my TMS-emotional glass, half empty or half full?

Most often, I found the thoght to be colored negatively-the glass half empty. I think this is true for most people on the planet. We remenber, and are affected by negative occurrences or criticism, exponentialy greater, than positive ones. When my tennis coach criticizes, me I react to it much stonger, taking it to heart more than when he compliments me. I have accepted that learning is like that. We, (or at least me), learn faster from the whip than the carrot.

If you don't get discouraged by this, and keep showing up, you can learn the fundamentals and eventually life can start to become fun. You can start playing the ball rather than having it play you. I have observed that successful people, shrug off failures. They learn from their mis-cues and don't dwell on them. They don't them to heart.

I can make an analogy of this to TMS pain. If you face the pain head-on and accept it as TMS, and defeat it, you can learn how to do this with all future pain occurences. On the other hand if you treat the pain as an isolated occurence, you will have to re-live it chronically or deal with it anew as it morphs into new symptoms and equivalents.

I now try to reflect on my negaitive thoughts and try to turn them into positve ones. I try to devise a positve solution to the issue or accept it as something that is not in my ability to conrol.

The sting of the bee is remembered much longer than the flutter of the butterfly.

Glad to see someone out there mention Caroline Myss. Her books have changed my life, especially "Why people don't heal and how they can." I recommend that book to everyone I know. Thanks for the quote.
