I have all three of his books and am debating whether to download The Divided Mind on audio (you can download the MP3 version). I've heard some people say the subconscious absorbs the spoken word better than the written word sometimes.

Anyone ever tried this? Thoughts?

I got TDM off of audible and was very pleased with it. It was a good 6 hours worth for sure. I know it's not everything in the whole book but it's the meat of it. I haven't read the book yet though - waiting for the paperback.

I love putting these books on my ipod and just listening to them as I go about my daily work. I'm sure it does sink in on a subconscious level.

Some people are more auditory than others, the NLP-ers would have us believe, so I guess it might not be for everyone. I'm always surprised when people tell me they can't listen to audio books and would prefer to read them themself!

By the way - if you use audible it has some crappy copy protection on it, which is a pain to remove. I usually have to reencode my books onto MP3 to listen to them.

Thanks for the info! I was considering it myself until I saw that it was abridged (yet still over 6 hrs if I recall it said at Amazon) and was concerned it might leave out too much.

I purchased the audiobook version on CD of The Divided Mind from Amazon and was a bit disappointed that it only has the first 4 chapters (and not even all the content of them). This is probably normal for audio books, but I had never purchased one before and did not know to expect that.

However, I still would recommend it to anyone because all of Dr. Sarno's chapters are in the audio book.
