For almost two years I'm dealing with RSI. (Repetitive Strain Injury)
After I have tried many treatments, I finally discovered the theory of dr. Sarno. After following the TMS-program for several months, it's going clearly better with me.

However I do still have ups and downs. My question is about the morning. Sometimes when I wake up my hands feel more cold and painfull then normally. Also I feel often quite tensed in the morning. Probably it's a result of the work of my onconscious brain while I sleep. However, i am not able to remind what I was thinking in my dreams.

Does anyone have a good advice for me?
Thanx

Barry

Hi Barry

It's good to hear of your success in dealing with your pain after finding out about Dr Sarno's work.

The numbness and tingling you describe sounds very similar to Laura's post of 26th December, 'Hands falling asleep at night'. Reading that will show you that what you experience is often a form of TMS; as is the shifting of symptoms. Many of us who post here have experienced some new symtoms appearing when the main one, in your case RSI, lessens.

Waking up tense was something that happened to me as well. When my TMS was at its worst, the morning tenseness meant another day of the fear/pain/escalating pain cycle. It became a conditioned response for me - and took quite a long time for me to be able to break that conditioned response, but I did manage to break it.

I found it helpful to read widely on anxiety conditions as well as TMS.

Keep reading the posts here, Barry and post about your progress and any problems you encounter along the way. It definitely helped me recover to join in discussions with people who were experiencing similar problems to mine.

Best wishes

Anne
