Hey,

I know that a lot of you have read SteveO's book and wanted to let you know that the Peer Network will be discussing his book during the drop-in chats on Saturdays. Last week we discussed the first two chapters and decided to form a sort of TMS reading group.

This coming Saturday we will be going over chapters 3-5 of the Great Pain Deception, which I believe is where Steve talks about his recovery story. I know that you guys have talked about his book a lot, and we would love to have some of you join us on Saturday to share your thoughts and ideas. The drop in chat is from 3-4 PM EST on Saturday. To attend just go to www.tmswiki.org/chat .

By the way, you don't have to read the book to attend the chat. It is still for support and general discussion.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

My mind tends to wander a lot as well, especially with reading books. I wanted to let you all know that we did end up posting the transcript from the June 30th chat when Steve dropped in. The transcript can be found here.

We will also be continuing our discussion of chapters 1-6 this Saturday during the drop in chat from 3:00-4:00 PM EST. We have had some great discussions so far, so if you have a moment it would be great for you to drop by.

@TT - The only real challenge about doing the transcriptions is formatting the text so it makes sense. I use a computer program to grab the text, but it spits it out with a lot of code along with it. I really don't mind it though. It's just great to be able to post the discussions so other people can read them as well.

I am getting really excited about these drop in chat sessions. There is a great mix of new TMSers and people who have been around the block so to speak. If you haven't checked one out yet, it would be great to see you there.

Best,

Forest

Love is the answer, whatever the question

Looks very interesting FFT, I did a quick skim and will go back to read more fully. The link through the "here" button worked well. Do you do all the transcription, that's a lot of work?

Thanks

TT - We are actually posting the relevant parts of the transcript, however we may remove some personal content. Our discussion from last week over chapters 1&2 can be found at here

Just keep in mind that since it is a chat room discussion it can sort of jump around a lot. With that said, I thought the discussion was terrific. We will continue to post these transcripts at the wiki.

That sounds interesting Forest. I'm not sure I can add any value though. People tend to translate things as they want to regardless of original intent, it's human nature like changing the lyrics to a song--we tend to like our version better.

I will try to come by Saturday but I wonder if it won't change how people respond in a free flow conversation?

I'll check out the log from the first reading to see if there's anything I can add. The idea is to discuss the concepts, right?

I'll be doing the Janette Barber show on Sirius XM. She is a nice lady, we've been communicating back and forth this week to set the date and she has an easy personality, very kind and warm like an old friend. She wanted me in studio but I don't live anywhere near NY. So it will be a phone in-terview in July.

Tom, hip-fully you are doing better. I'm happy to know someone has stolen one of my books from you. Ya gotta admire the desire. I just hope it wasn't Dr. Sarno.

Thanks FFT, that's sounds very interesting. I'm up to page 80 and am trying to stretch it out as long as I can. "Hipfully" (that was a typo but how apropos so I'll leave it), this will be the last TMS book I'll "have" to read. My question is are these chats archived or only live? At that hour I'm doing something important--playing tennis--what else!

Cheers for your TMS work!
