Posted - 07/11/2012 : 19:46:51 Here is Dr. Sarno testifying before Senator Harkin's Committee on Health: http://www.help.senate.gov/hearings/hearing/?id=5906d585-5056-9502-5dd1-1d549d0d88f7alth:
If someone posted this before, pardon the duplication.
I think this is huge- Senator Harkin cured his own back pain using Dr. Sarno's book and is now a convert. Plus his niece cured her "fibromyalgia" using a Dr. Sarno book. So Sen. Harkin asks: WHY isn't this being taught in our medical schools?????
I am so glad Dr. Sarno lived to see this day. But I am sad to hear he is now fully retired. At 89 he kept practicing as long as possible because of his compassion for pain patients.
God bless John Sarno. And I don't even believe in God. Steve

Posted - 07/13/2012 : 10:45:29 It was interesting to hear Christine Veasley from the National Vulvodynia Association (NVA) speak right before Dr. Sarno about how vulvodynia sufferer's pain is ignored or written off as "all in their heads and not real" by most doctors. The debate about this that followed Dr. Sarno's speach was also interesting. Senator Harkin even tried to get through to Cristine and Dr. Pizzo what Dr. S was talking about. They just wouldn't listen. I'm really glad that Sen. Harkin acknowledged TMS as real and also that Dr. S got to speak in front of this senate gathering. TMS is so tricky and frustrating to try to explain to someone. It's that same old thing about the word psychosomatic or psychogenic. People just bristle when they hear this.
Before I knew about TMS I had checked out the NVA when I was suffering from vulvodynia. There wasn't much hope there so I let it go. Later I was able to stop my vulvodynia after reading and learning about TMS. I've often thought about going back to the NVA and trying to tell them about Dr. S and TMS but now I'm glad I didn't bother. It's so frustrating because so many women are still suffering with this condition and they don't have to. |

Hi Hambone, thanks for checking in. It came up a while back but I haven't watched it myself. No need to apologize for duplication! Repetition for TMS'ers is good. TMS'ers, being the "goodists" that they naturally are, spend way to much time saying they're sorry. Practice being bad, only be good when you decide consciously that you want to be, not when you feel compelled to be. The jails are full and bad behavior is rewarded today, a la Martin Sheen. Follow your heart, good, warm, cold, black or otherwise.
Cheers
Excellent, thanks. Just fast forwarded through and Sarno starts talking at about 63 minutes in. Will watch a little bit later.
