Researchers just linked chronic fatigue to changes in gut bacteria

I still think it's more likely TMS - even if they can find biologic changes - if you've been "chronically fatigued" for some time (which you must be to be included in the CF group of the study) then you have secondary lifestyle adaptations and mind-body factors that can both affect your gut bacteria. If TMS stress and anxiety can lower your immune system, a lot of the immune system interacts with the gut - this doesn't mean gut bacteria caused the fatigue, rather the fatigue and stress can change the gut bacteria. Perhaps its related to hormone changes like extra cortisol. Thoughts and feelings definitely impact hormones and immune responses.

If the subconscious can restrict blood flow and oxygen to nerves, it can also allow gut bacteria to flourish or become upset to create symptoms that satisfy the sub-concious' objectives.

Researchers may have a vested interest in finding a biological "cause" so they can create a product to "treat" it.
