I am almost convinced I have TMS, but I have not been able to find any doctors who are trained in diagnosing TMS in North Carolina.
Any leads/tips would be greatly appreciated.

I have visited Dr Schecter's website and all of his links are quite far away. I did try to contact Dr. Sopher, but I haven't gotten through yet. He is still very far away, but in a pinch, I may have to make the trip.

Thanks
Will

Will, you don't really need a TMS doctor. As so many others have already indicated on this forum, read the Sarno books. If you can see yourself on practically every page, then you have TMS, which is self-treatable. In fact, self treatment might solve your problems a lot faster. Many of us have had recovery delayed by months, sometimes years, by well-meaning doctors who want to address bone spurs, pinched nerves, degenerated discs, etc. Even those few doctors that do treat TMS are likely to be looking for physical causes, because that's what doctors are trained to do. Personally, I feel fortunate that I was NOT able to find a TMS doctor where I live.

Good thought. You are right.
It seems like a lot of the TMS treatment has to do with taking an active role in your own healing and really watching what is happening with pain vs emotion. I am finding that my direct experiences are my only truths. Not MRI's, xrays, diagnosis. I actually cancelled an MRI today. I am getting tired of the same "treat the symptoms" pattern of the orthopedics/neurologists. I was told I had no serious cancer, bone fractures, etc., so I am completely ready to take the psychological route.
Thanks for the insight.
Will
