She wrote a book called "who turned off my brain".
Has anyone read the book? If so, what did you think?
I heard her explaining her theory on a TV program. She explains how memories are stored everywhere in the body, not just the brain, and are guided by chemicals. Sounds a lot like like Candace Pert. She explained how "emotional memories" cause psychosomatic illness. I think there is a lot of TMS in what she said, but she is clearly trying to be more "scientific" and probably focuses too much on the physical. She also believes you have to "release" the negative emotions, which I know is not Sarno, but is not exactly anti-Sarno either.

Yes, I watched the clip - interesting stuff, more information about repressed emotions causing problems. Maybe I missed something in the second programme but there didn't seem to be clear advice on how to deal with these emotions. I'm not religious so didn't glean much help from it.
One thing does bug me - why do these highly intelligent and successful women feel the need to glam up so much to put their point across. - looked like hair extensions, highlighted streaks, caked in eye makeup, nails, rattling with jewellery, 'surprisingly' unlined skin for someone her age.
If you've got it soooo togeher, deep confident religious beliefs etc why do you need that mask to face the world???? - or maybe i'm just jealous! |

Another book worth checking out along similar lines is "The Great Reduction" by Dieter Mulitze. It is available on Amazon, and although this book is more focused on Psychiatric illnesses it does talk about physical illnesses that can be affected by emotional and spiritual ailments. It's good and he has written other books as well. The only reason I came across this forum is because I was looking up Caroline Leaf and I came to this post. And although I do not have TMS I struggled with many other types of illnesses and my health has been restored to me. |
