                      | This may be premature, but ive gone 2 weeks with virtually no psoriasis flareups (only one day) and im confident ive seen the end of this round--so i win this battle!!
Ive been fighting this latest AOS manifestation for 8 months now, and the pain/discomfort was so bad at times that i felt like dying. I believe the key to my success this time around was denying the symptoms any attention--in the end the TMS gremlin has just 'given up'. I did the hardcore TMS stuff early on (journaling etc) but the 'not gonna let it affect me' routine seems to have been most helpful.

I am now fully aware that the underlying psychological issues were far deeper and serious than i was initially willing to admit. This is gonna take a lifetime commitment for me to overcome. Ive been dealing with intermittent stomach distress, congestion, and insomnia the last two weeks, but its been mild and since i understand the origins they wont last long.

Thanks for all the great support, encouragement, and advice ive rerceived from my friends here at the forum! I hope to keep reporting positive news, and use my experience to hopefully help others.

Its so heartening to read of success! How do you go about your routine when you feel like your dying? This has been a hurdle-

In the past, doing things when I was feeling lousy usually diverted me and helped me feel better. This has not happened with these lastest things - 8 months is a long time - like you I'm sure I have
more serious issues than alot of folks or this would not be so overwhelming.

Were you able to do this w/o outside help of TMS doctor or therapist?
So happy that you are beating this thing.

                      | Thanks Lidge! Fortunately, the worst days were early in the game. After i had the septoplasty, i had a severe reaction and didnt sleep for 72 hours. wasnt fun. Then there were times i just felt like sleeping cause it was the only relief i got. I had to force myself to stay active, going to the gym was a big help. I think just knowing that the symptoms were psychosomatic and they weren't gonna last so long as i remained defiant of them was a big help in getting through the rough days. Ive been seeing a therapist weekly (non TMS), and i dont really know but i think its been somewhat helpful. |
