Update From Monte:
Many people will not do what really works until all other options have been exhausted...
--------------------

Piriformis Testimonial:
11-10-2008 - "I am ready to commit myself into the psych ward!"
01-24-2009 - "I have gone from having severe ankle tendinitis pain for 6 months, in an orthopedic boot and on crutches, to being able to run again with absolutely no pain..." The link to the whole story is below.

Hot Research:
To the chagrin of many, Yoga in it's many forms just keeps producing positive results! Researchers from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi find that a 9-day yoga and stress management program led to favorable metabolic effects on people with hypertension, heart disease and diabetes…

Root Lock Practice:
Whatever path you are on to heal TMS, root lock can greatly enhance it! Before I ever knew the name Sarno or TMS I ended 20 years of chronic pain with the Root Lock practice being the key - This is worth the 2 minute read.We all know how the medical community and the public in general dismisses Sarno's TMS theory. Do not allow yourself to fall into that exact same belief or attitude regarding the root lock practice! It is real therapy and it works!
" The root lock is an important tool in the treatment of physical diseases and disorders. It has an immediate effect of creating a deep sense of mental relaxation, which relieves most mental and psychosomatic disorders, which are the direct or indirect result of inner stress, tension and anxiety!"...excerpt from The Master Practice
"Moola bandha or root lock, offers an infinitely powerful technique capable of breaking down the rigid barriers that have been built up in the mind over the years, thereby expelling deep unconscious conflicts and complexes that are not easily accessible to modern psychological techniques...The technique of moola bandha had been a closely guarded secret for millennia. By contracting the mooladhara chakra we have a more powerful technique than all the modern psychological techniques put together. They look like child's play compared..." excerpt from Moola Bandha The Master Key

Update Continued...
Many people will not do what really works until all other options have been exhausted. This is usually when people will at least be open to looking at an alternative diagnosis to their chronic pain for the first time. And it is when after reading many different books, trying different therapies, searching for the "fix" outside of themselves that they become more open to the truth that they must do much of the inner work themselves. The inner work that is required to reverse this pain disorder. There are different paths to success in healing from chronic tms pain. My intention is to provide the inner tools and strategies that you can use in conjunction with the path you have chosen.
The most important truth that I want you to hear and understand in healing from a chronic physical pain disorder that is caused by psychological factors is: Treat the cause don't feed the pain strategy. That may seem a rather simplistic statement but it is big huge to understand and then implement. In fact it is so big huge that I believe without a doubt it is the biggest single reason people get stuck and struggle in this pain disorder for years and forever no matter what path they have chosen. I witness this "feeding" of the pain strategy every day in people who are struggling with their best intentions to end this disorder. The good news is this is easily remedied.
Follow these big huge key steps in whatever path you choose.
1. Accept the tms (psychological diagnosis) 100%. I can not emphasize how big huge this is!
2. Stop All physical treatments aimed at curing the cause of your pain and/or symptoms. You must be honest with yourself here!
3. Resume normal activiites. However gradual start this process. This is big communication back to the pain strategy. No Fear
4. Think Psychological - Make sure this is Genuine - Realize there are two parts to this!
A. Do not focus on the pain or symptom or how to physically treat it. Pain is always a signal to become aware of how your are being, what you are thinking, why or how you are generating tension/anxiety in yourself.
B. It also means to get out of your old chronic behavior patterns and associated thougths. Take your "think psychological" to a new level. When you are in a people pleasing behavior and worry thoughts, this is your signal to redirect out of these patterns that generate tension and go in to new patterns that are more open and allowing.
If you are struggling within a plateau/relapse or if you have been pain free for 5 years and now you have a new tms pain/symptom --- You may find yourself being a bit "casual" in your treaement approach. You may believe that your awareness of tms is enough to stop the disorder but now it is 2 months later and instead of getting better it is getting worse. Be careful here. You want to stay out of fear and doubt. They lead to searching, which leads outside of yourself, which in this disorder always leads to a worsening of your symptoms. TMS awareness may not be enough now! If you find yourself in this place, genuinely review steps 1-4 and make sure you are not being too casual in your personal treatment practice. You may need to really focus on 4-B and that means really figuring out how you are generating inner tension and how you can redirect out of it. It can also be as simple as realizing that you stopped journaling or quit a particular practice that was helpful for you in the past at releasing your tension. ____________________

Root Lock continuted...
Root lock is an energy charging practice with great specific benefit for many diseases of mental and pranic origin, where there is depression of physical energy or imbalance of the mental body.
Psychotherapeutic value: Root lock is a powerful means of relaxing the body and mind. It relaxes the mental tenseness that we see mirrored in various personalities as phobia, mania, hysteria, depression and anxiety. This is becasue root lock is a mental purgative, releasing the subconscious mind of repressed anxieties and hidden mental blocks....
Psychophysical relationship: Root lock leverages on the mind-body link. You may wonder how it is that a single contraction of such a small area of the physical body can have such powerful effects on the whole human system. Yogic philosophy states that the effects of root lock are more powerful than contraction of all the other muscles of the body combined...
Psychoemotional relationship: The physical contraction is merely a means to locate a psychic body component. Now the real work starts. The subconscious mind is stimulated so that repressed mental energy is allow to surfac into conscious awareness where we can deal with it through our own detached awareness and control.

Hot research continued...
Researchers from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi examined the short-term impact of a brief yoga intervention on some of the biochemical risk indicators for cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. Ninety-eight subjects (67 male, 31 female), ages 20-74, with hypertension, coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, and a variety of other illnesses, participated in a lifestyle training program that consisted of yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), relaxation techniques, group support, individualized advice, lectures and films on the philosophy of yoga and the place of yoga in daily life, meditation, stress management, nutrition, and knowledge about their disease.Tests of fasting plasma glucose and serum lipoprotein profiles were taken on day 1 and day 10, the first and last day of the course. The study found that fasting plasma glucose, serum total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, the ratio of total cholesterol to high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, and total triglycerides were significantly lower, and HDL cholesterol significantly higher, on the last day of the course, as compared to the first day of the course. The changes were more marked in subjects with hyperglycemia or hypercholesterolemia. The researchers conclude that a short lifestyle modification and stress management education program can lead to favorable metabolic effects within a period of 9 days.
