You're better, right? Well, no.
You're better, right? No.
You can't say for sure that you're not better, can you? Well, yes.
You aren't clearly worse, are you? No.

SUCCESS!!

Exactly. Some say that part of the placebo effect is a desire to please the doctor.

If Adam was sincere, he would accept the challenge to offer 20 of us difficult cases free treatment in exchange for testimonials if he actually cures us. If successful, he would get tons of business from this site alone.

chickenbone, I read the excerpt of the book on Amazon then searched for keywords. As far as I can tell it is HBP reworded with the addition of NLP as described by Aussie. Nothing earth shattering.
The value of the program must be then in the Skype/email support.

I understand Ace. I am just sensitive to the distractions that prevent healing and that I see all around. I know it pretty well. I wasted 2 years jumping from books to videos to worksheets, convinced that I was doing the right thing. Steve-O I believe is the first one that flagged the behavior as a major pitfall.

Hillbilly made a point of that around here for a very long time. But, kudos to SteveO for including that in his book as well. It's good advice, imo.

(Though, I admittedly have borrowed different things from different programs that have helped me.)

Thanks Bryan. Do you have a link by chance readily available? If not, no big deal.

Oh, there are dozens. Just do a search. Here's one I found from his last thread here, alone...

You have read several books. I posted a lengthy response to your thread on CFS and what Dr. Low thought about it. Time for it to be used. Avoiding is a habit that can be broken in real time, right now, by summoning the will. I can tell you are quite intelligent and have a good deal to offer the world. Don't light the lamp and keep it under a bowl :)

Here's another similar from a long time ago...

What do you believe is causing your symptoms? If you think something other than nerves is to blame, then why did you find this board, how did you post this question, and why are you reading this answer? If it is because you are still gathering information, that's fine. But there isn't anything anyone can say to assuage your suffering other than, "Wow! Sorry to hear that. Hope that doesn't require surgery." For those of us who remember full well how badly we suffered, how we thought, whose minds have been changed through reading and sharing and even arguing, we can simply say accept it. It is nothing, and you are healthy as a horse. Be glad and of good cheer. You will thank us later. For now, you have a life to lead. Go lead it courageously.

Though admittedly, I was lucky enough to trade a few PMs with Hillbilly and some of that sage advice may have been in PM form. I remember he used to instruct us that at some point, we had to get out of the "information gathering" stage.

So much good info. I highly suggest you search his old posts. I even made a thread where people can post them.
