I am a newcomer to this forum. I am a believer in Dr. Sarno's theories, and am glad to be able to post on this forum.

Has anyone have experience with TMS equivalent tinnitus? I am almost convinced that my hearing problems, hearing loss, tinnitus and pulsatile tinnitus are a result of some serious family problems.
I was in an auto accident in April 2011, and did sustain some nerve damage in my right ear. However, symptoms of tinnitus began almost one year later. I think that I don't want to hear/listen to the problems of my close family.
Any thoughts on this?

I've had tinnitus that was not explained by my Dr. So, yes, I believe it can def. be a form of TMS.

Hi Gemini6.
I too suffer from tinnitus. I've been dealing with it for over 20 years now. In the past, I've worked in some very noisy work environments (mining) but I've always used double hearing protection (earplugs & earmuffs).
I was examined by a specialist & no serious issue was detected. I'm currently using the Sarno approach to finally get rid of this frustrating problem.
I'm curious to see any replies to your question. I definately believe that tinnitus is an TMS equivalent.
I hope things work out for you.
Take care.

Thanks for your responses.
I also had MRI & other tests that were negative for any structural damage.
So, I am almost convinced a TMS equivalent.
Now, my challenge is to work on the psych issues the hearing problems. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me.

FYI, for those of you interested in researching this topic more fully here, do a "Search" using the button on the top right of the page and you will find eight pages of archived threads containing info with the word "tinnitus" hi-lited in yellow.

wanted to add that when I experienced tinnitus, and saw 2 specialists, and came up with nothing, I believed them that it was nothing and within days of seeing them it was gone. It was so bad before seeing the specialists that it would wake me from the dead of sleep, the tonal ringing was so loud. That was several years ago before I started looking everything up on the internet (BAD problem). Now I would be less inclined to believe the doctors because of the internet, even though it is not reliable and ridiculous to get a "diagnoses" online! My point is, once I started believing it was nothing, it went away. That was before I even knew about TMS.
