The answer to the question I have may be obvious, but I would like to get the opinion of people who are much more knowledgeable about TMS that I am.
When I have back pain, NSAIDS and other pain killers donīt work well at all. That is why I very seldom take them. However, a very small dose of a tranquilizer will often improve my comfort dramatically, often for several days or a week. Would you say this is likely TMS pain???

Hi Chickenbone, I am not a TMS expert but experienced the same thing! Took NSAID's for years for "inflamed" tendons, without any success. Took a small dose of tranqulizers and drunk a glas of vine: the pain was much better! My explanations for this phenomenon: the tranquilizers I took (Benzos) relaxed the muscles and "calmed the mind" (valium is a very famous benzodiazepine which is prescribed agaist anxiety and muscle spasms!) Don't know which kind of tranquilizer you took. I don't take them any more but sometimes I miss them
Kind regards from Germany sends Birdie |

Hi Birdie78,
I take a very small dose of Klonipin when the pain gets really annoying. Usually .5mg about once per week. I don't like to take meds, so I try to only take it when I feel I really need to.
I guess I am always on a quest to keep believing that it is TMS. When I give in to the physical, the pain tends to come. It always seems like my mind and the pain want me to think something is really wrong physically. |
