I'm a newbie and very concerned about the new pain that just developed in both wrists. That, in addition to the severe left
buttock and lower back pain I've had for years has me really worried.
Getting to the point where the pain is so intense, I'm have trouble thinking physcologically. Afraid I'm losing ground here. Any suggestions?

hi williwedge,

All my TMS symptoms basically started in my forearms, from computer use .
apparently, I didn't like my job that much :-)
started in one arm moved over to the second one quickly and now I also get it in my hands and wrists. My bio(click on my name) has my full physical description.

Believe me, I know how much pain in your arms can you get you down...
I got to the point I could not use a knife and fork . when it came to eating I had to try to always have something I can consume with just my hands... the spiralling depression did not help and keeps you focused on the pain...

but then I discovered, Dr Sarno, and his books and a video of his lecture .
it only took me a few weeks to actually start getting improvements . it was probably about three to four months when I was able to start using a knife and fork again, lift up my niece I have never held and other wonderful things.

Maybe a year and a half later, I can use my arms for basically anything... I still get pain, but no longer makes me focus heavily on it.

Recently, I got a new hand related pain, and it got me really down... but after a month I got through it(and I think, very much thanks to this web site)

My way of dealing with it is if it's particularly bad I find a distraction like watching an intense movie or doing a computer game I really enjoy(although a normal doctor would tell me not to play a game from experience it reduces the pain, because I enjoy it)
