 JFK and his chronic back pain

I heard someone mention that JFK had debilitating lower back pain for most of his life. So bad, that he used crutches at times. I had never known this. Heartbreaking, yet very interesting. Me thinks what was going on there is pretty self explanatory to folks like us. A quick google search produced this short piece:
