Hi, I am Patti M. I've recently learned that I have TMS, after 52 years of wondering "What the heck is wrong with me"? I am reading many of Dr.Sarno's books, have watched his lecture on DVD and have taken notes. Finally, I am aware of and know what has been happening to my body & mind for decades! Started with an itchy skin rash on my feet/heels when I was 18 or 19. Also, nervousness. Back and hip pain started in my late 40's I am truly amazed with the info in Steve Ozanich's The Great Pain Deception! Just started reading it. Learning so much & so quickly. I have multiple equivalent symptoms as well as low back attacks (back "goes out") plus mild anxiety, both of these that comes and goes. GI digestive symptoms, too.
I've been dealing (all too well and for way too long) with these uncomfortable symptoms, I believe wholeheartedly in the fact that I have TMS, and I truly am ready to heal this, however long it takes.
Would love to hear from some of you folks who are healing from this awful condition. I am in psychotherapy now for almost 2 months. All the best, Patti

You came to one of the right places Patti. Here's SteveO's website, he does TMS coaching and charges very reasonably, you can do by phone or Skype:

Is your present therapist a TMS one? My recommendation is to get one who specializes in TMS, otherwise you're having to pay them to learn about TMS.

Good Luck!

Wow Tom! That was a rocking list of quotes.

I am king of paraphrasing so I won't remember them' but I sure love reading them.I have a Twain-like habit of miscombobulating wisdom.

Two really great books I read recently (over and over and over) were "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius and "The Golden Sayings of Epictetus". Both very Centering, sobering and brutally honest.

A lot of modern 'pop' self help is based on epictetus. It was nice to read the originals.
