Hey guys. OK, so I started off with back/buttock pain. Then I got shoulder stiffness and RSI type pains in my arm/wrist (which I still have) and, as of today, I now also have pain in my calves - the right calf is particularly tender. The muscles feel really tight as if they're stretched and it hurts to walk (they're ok when I don't move them). I have felt my calves gradually becoming a little sore for a couple of days and then I woke up this morning and they were really sore.
I'm unsure if this is TMS though as they actually hurt to touch. If I press on my calf it's very tender. Also, I haven't heard of anyone having TMS in this area. I haven't done any kind of physical exercise that could cause them to hurt though!
Any comments will be appreciated.

Yea! This is good news. It definitely sounds like TMS--moving from one location to another, and multiple places at once. It sounds like you're doing your TMS work and your subconsious mind is scrambling to find a new place to fool you. Don't let it! TMS pain can have all kinds of characteristics, and can be located virtually anywhere on the physical body. When it's affeting the muscular system, it can feel stiff, numb, tight, throbbing, aching, sharp/stabbing, prickly, creepy-crawly, spasmy, sore to the touch and/OR sore when it is moved. You name it!
Keep doing your emotional work, and get to the true root of the pain.

Before I even read sonora sky's posting I was going to say this is GOODNEWS!!! But then he beat me too it. Yes indeed TMS pain will move around with a view to throwing your off and keep you focused on the body. Ignore it as much as you can, think pyschologically, ie something that my be angering or worrying you or stressing you out, and resume normal physical activity. You will win beacuse you now know what is taking place! Congratulations.
Sometimes we only tag a thread "success story" when someone reports that their pain is gone. I say, when someone accepts that they have TMS and that is the source of their pain, then this is also a genuine success story.

Ditto Shawn!
Louise, you've got TMS.
MAN did I have bad RSI typing pain in my wrists and hands! I had to type with pencil erasers for two months! I bought 3 different ergonomic keyboards, the last one costing almost $500! I saw doctor after doctor. I was about to get surgery. I was told that everyone had bands that ran the length of their arms down to the tips of their fingers, and maybe mine were just a little shorter, so typing caused more pain for me than for others. I also type really fast.
Well, before I got surgery, I read Sarno's book as a last-ditch effort. I saw myself on a lot of those pages.
Just keep asking yourself what you might be feeling that you're afraid to feel. What emotions/thoughts/feelings have you had that you think you might've repressed? What do you feel angry about? What do you feel ashamed of? What do you feel grief/sadness over?
Access these feelings. Ask yourself about them. Feel them.
The pain will go away. I wish I could bet money on whether or not you have TMS, because I'd become a rich man. Stick with it!
I see a bright future ahead for you... |

Thanks to everyone who has replied. It's always comforting to come on here and here reassuring comments and to know others go through this stuff!
I hope it's a sign that I'm going to start improving, as you all say. I guess I'll keep thinking psychological and try to 'out trick' my brain!

Yes, exactly. I have been telling people that I am experiencing a "miraculous healing" when things move around in their ridiculously sneaky TMS way.
Hee hee, busted, I say.
